This site is about the Montgomery Wards Riverside Mojave motorcycle, its history, conception and production, the well known people and companies involved in its design, and the Mojave’s prototype, the Benelli Scorcher.

The site also will be a build series as I attempt to create a Pseudo-Scorcher using a Mojave frame and bodywork and readily available chassis and engine parts from donor motorcycles.

The information presented here has been gleaned from a number of magazine articles and the internet.  I have credited sources where possible and avoided hearsay preferring facts or at least accounts from reliable sources.  If any of the providers wishes their information or photos not to be used here, I will retract them immediately.  However, I hope that will not happen as there is precious little information out there and every bit will help get this fascinating story told.

If you have any information or opinions, photos or references or can add anything to the discussion of the subject of the Mojave or Scorcher cycles - please contact me -
